Mendoza, the land of meat and mountains, is home to the vines that make Layer Cake Malbec and Sea of Stones. It is also home to what is perhaps the most perfect grilling mechanism ever created, the parrilla.
If you find yourself in Mendoza, don’t plan on eating much in the way of leafy greens. Meat is the main feature of any menu, as it should be, because meat in Mendoza is elevated to an art form. We would be remiss if we didn’t shout out to the free range, grass fed farming practices that create a taste sensation that you just can’t find in other places.
The Layer Cake team has some friends in Mendoza who have been kind enough to share their skills on the parrilla, as well as many other recipes that you will find in the One True Vine Journal.
Stay tuned for next week’s post for a full recipe from Mendoza.
