Mian – Chinese Comfort Food

Years ago we wrote about a tremendous young talent, David Sigal. David is a young culinary creator with a passion for Chinese culture and food. He discovered this passion in college and it grew as he spent several years in Beijing and South East Asia.

David’s talents are now available to the masses. Living in Portland, he has launched Mian, a Chinese food pop –up with colleague Connor Martin. The mission of Mian is simple, to cook “kick ass Chinese food” and to bring the regional Chinese flavors to the city of Portland.

And they are delivering on that mission. This week, Mian was featured in Eaters, “The Best Portland Pop-Ups to Try Now”. Mostly available on Sunday and Monday evenings in different locations, Mian serves up creative Chinese comfort food.

Like Mian’s Facebook page to learn more. Or better yet, next time you are in Portland make it a point to track down Mian and try their food. We think this is just the beginning of the great things you’ll hear about David as he launches himself into the food scene.
